Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Clinical Research Practitioner to join our dynamic research team at Sandwell and West Birmingham NHS Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a pivotal role in the recruitment and delivery of an MRC-funded experimental medicine early phase clinical trial for groundbreaking treatments for inflammatory eye disease.

Main Responsibilities
  • Support clinicians and other research team members in the delivery of clinical trials
  • Assist in the coordination of and processing, storage, and tracking of biosamples
  • Perform study-related procedures, including participant assessment, informed consent, clinical examinations, and reporting adverse events
  • Develop and maintain excellent communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with patients, clinicians, and other stakeholders
  • Manage a patient caseload across various studies and prioritize workload accordingly

Requirements
  • Undergraduate degree or equivalent theoretical knowledge
  • Registered nurse/midwife with current NMC registration, Allied Health Professional with current registration, or Clinical Scientist with current registration
  • Recent experience of working as a first-level registered nurse, midwife, RSCN, allied health professional, or clinical research practitioner within an NHS or care setting
  • Experience of clinical research at Band 5 level and/or previous experience within a relevant specialty at an equivalent band (Ophthalmology)
