Job DescriptionWe are seeking a professional and experienced Health and Safety Specialist to join our growing Health & Safety team. As a key member of the team, you will assist the business in its undertaking and offer practical advice on the measures which need to be undertaken to comply with the requirements and prohibitions imposed upon the business due to any statutory provisions laid down for the health and safety of employees, contractors, visitors or any persons who may be affected by the business acts or omissions.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with the implementation, monitoring, and reviewing of Health & Safety strategies, procedures, risk assessments, site safety plan, and safe working practices in line with the Global Safety Framework.
- Promote a positive Health & Safety culture and assist to improve Health & Safety performance.
- Action any safety concerns raised by employees, managers, safety representatives, visitors, contractors, or members of the public.
- Assist management and development of the Global Safety Framework.
- Assist in the identification of training needs for employees and assist with the delivery of training as required.
- Support the carrying out and/or review of risk assessments where required.
- Carry out workplace inspections in order to proactively identify where Health & Safety may be improved.
- Support managers with investigations and facilitate necessary steps to prevent reoccurrences.
- Assist with preparation of Health & Safety reports and statistical performance data as required.
- Keep up to date with current Health & Safety legislation.
- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with all departments at all levels.
- Take an active role in any company projects or initiatives which will improve wellbeing & Health & Safety.
- Actively engage with the factory floor to facilitate communications.
- Attend and chair safety meetings as required.
- Working knowledge and understanding of incident investigation.
- Enjoys working in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.
- Encourages team working and works proactively with other departments.
- Is innovative in their approach to Health & Safety.
- Acts with fairness and consistency.
