National Locums is Hiring a Consultant Dermatologist

We are seeking a highly skilled Consultant Dermatologist to join our team on a locum part-time or full-time basis. This exciting opportunity is for an NHS hospital setting in Birmingham, where you will have the chance to work with a dynamic team and contribute to the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Main Responsibilities
  • Take and share consultant clinical responsibilities within the department, with the option to work part-time or full-time or on weekends.
  • Supervise nurse-led clinics within the department, providing guidance and support to ensure the highest standards of care.
  • Offer management advice to GPs where necessary, leveraging your expertise to improve patient outcomes.

The consultant job plan will be based on a 10 PA contract, but we encourage applicants to apply even for a 1-2 day per week work pattern. Payments will be made via a limited company or self-employed options, available through a private service provider.

Requirements
  • Broad knowledge and experience of medical and surgical dermatology, including the management of acute dermatoses.
  • A particular interest and expertise in skin cancer diagnosis and treatment.
What We Offer
  • Clinical training and experience equivalent to that required for gaining UK CCST in Dermatology.
  • The ability to offer an expert opinion on the full range of dermatological problems.
  • The ability to take full independent responsibility for the clinical care of patients.
  • The ability to safely oversee and share care of patients with chronic skin problems with nursing and other staff.
  • Supervised training in an appropriate SpR training programme or equivalent.
