Job Title: SEND Teaching Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teaching Assistant to join our SEMH unit in Kidderminster. As a Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs, as well as those with associated needs such as Autism, ADHD, and SpLD.

About the Role:
  • Work in a pupil referral unit in Kidderminster, supporting students with SEMH needs.
  • Collaborate with a supportive management team and other Teaching Assistants to create a safe and inclusive learning environment.
  • Develop and implement strategies to engage and motivate students, while setting clear boundaries and managing challenging behaviour.
  • Work with students who have complex needs, including those with EHCPs for SEMH and associated needs.
  • Contribute to the development of a holistic curriculum offer, using excellent facilities and resources.

  • A positive disposition, with a teamwork nature and ability to adapt to meet the differing needs of each student.
  • Experience supporting children with challenging behaviours and SEMH needs.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with other Teaching Assistants, management, parents, and outside agencies.
  • Commitment to promoting a safe, inclusive, and engaging learning environment.
