Opportunity to Develop VAT Expertise

A great opportunity has arisen to join a well-established VAT team in a professional services firm. As a VAT Assistant Manager, you will work closely with experienced senior consultants to develop your technical knowledge and take on early responsibility for a range of clients dealing with compliance and advisory projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Preparation of VAT summaries and submission of VAT returns.
  2. Liaising with HM Revenue & Customs on behalf of clients.
  3. Supporting on advisory projects on a range of issues.
  4. Dealing with VAT registrations, deregistrations, and option to tax on behalf of clients.
  5. Delegation to, review, and oversight of VAT compliance tasks performed by VAT Trainees within the VAT team.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a good grounding in VAT in either compliance or advisory. Excellent grammar, numerical skills, and attention to detail are essential. Proactivity and the ability to communicate effectively with colleagues and clients will be key. This could be a good opportunity for someone working in a VAT compliance role looking to expand their experience and take on advisory work, or a consultant in a larger firm seeking a broad technical breadth of work and their own client portfolio.

The role is based in London, with an office presence required at least three days a week. Full study support will be provided to complete the ATT and CTA qualifications, if required. To apply, you must be based in the UK and have an unrestricted right to work in the UK.
