Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Surgical Nurse to lead and coordinate our surgical ward team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in surgical nursing, excellent leadership skills, and the ability to make autonomous decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and coordinate the surgical ward team to ensure high-quality patient care.
- Troubleshoot and raise concerns to the Ward Manager.
- Support the nursing team and students in their professional development.
- Delegate work to others and ensure the smooth running of the department.
- Make safe discharge decisions in collaboration with the consultant team.
- Carry out individualized nursing care and procedures to the highest standards, complying with hospital policies and procedures.
- Perform other duties delegated by the Ward Manager or team leader to ensure the proper and efficient care of patients.
Requirements:
- Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Pin (no restrictions on practice).
- Minimum of 1 year of senior nursing experience.
- Surgical ward experience is desirable.
- Excellent communication skills, organizational skills, and the ability to showcase excellent patient care.
- Strong leadership skills and the ability to make autonomous decisions.
