About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Income Officer to join our Customer Accounts Team. As an Income Officer, you will play a crucial role in recovering arrears from various tenures and preventing further accumulation of rent arrears.

Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Managing arrears and communicating with customers over the telephone and email
  • Negotiating payment agreements in line with our arrears policy and procedure
  • Providing continuous financial and welfare advice to customers as part of income collection
  • Managing complex tenancy issues, including under occupancy, abandonments, Debt Relief Orders, and breathing space cases

You will be responsible for maximising rental income for our customers and ensuring that they receive the support they need to sustain their tenancies.

About You

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • A Full UK Driving Licence
  • Housing, debt recovery, or customer service qualification
  • Knowledge and experience of preparing and serving legal documents, including Notice Seeking Possession
  • Understanding of housing policy, regulation, legislation, and practice, including social and affordable tenancy management
