Job Overview

We are seeking an experienced Band 5 or Band 6 nurse to join our Renal unit as a Sister. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading the team and providing high-quality patient care.

Main Duties
  • Manage the day-to-day operations of the ward, including Datix and E-rostering.
  • Lead the team with confidence and provide guidance and support as needed.
  • Support the Senior Sister and undertake audits and participate in weekly quality meetings.
  • Lead board rounds and MDT working, and have difficult conversations as required.
  • Be a registered nurse with current NMC licence to practice and evidence of continued professional development.
  • Have achieved a recognized teaching and assessing qualification and completed training for additional clinical skills required in the department.
  • Be competent in the use of computers and electronic communication systems.
  • Have evidence of an ability to critically appraise and utilize research to maintain and improve patient care.

Person Specification
  • Years of experience at a Band 5 level.
  • Degree in Adult Nursing (BSC Hons).
  • Evidence of leadership within a role.

The successful applicant will normally commence at the minimum of the scale unless they have previous NHS service at the same band. Progression through the scale is by annual increments.
