Protocol Education is seeking a dedicated and creative Teaching Assistant to join their team in a primary special needs school in Croydon. As a Teaching Assistant, you will be working closely with students who require additional support, using your creativity and skills to encourage engagement and accessibility.

About the Role

This is a full-time role, Monday to Friday, 8:30am-4:15pm. The successful candidate will be required to work in class of 6-8 students, supporting them academically and socially throughout the day. You will also be responsible for providing one-to-one support and assisting the teacher in lessons such as music, art, and cooking.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support students with speech and language difficulties, mild autism, physical disabilities, and learning difficulties
  • Assist the teacher in delivering tailored curriculum and lesson plans
  • Provide emotional and academic support to students on an individual basis
  • Work collaboratively with the teaching staff to ensure consistency and progress
Requirements
  • Ability to think creatively and apply skills to improve student understanding
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Calm and consistent approach when dealing with challenging situations
