Job Description:

  • Create visually appealing sushi dishes with precision and creativity
  • Prepare fresh ingredients for sushi production, including raw fish and other seafood
  • Maintain a clean and organized workspace while adhering to food safety and hygiene regulations
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations and timely food preparation
  • Assist in menu development and suggest new sushi creations
  • Monitor and maintain adequate inventory levels of sushi ingredients and supplies
  • Provide excellent customer service by answering queries about menu items and ingredients
  • Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in sushi preparation techniques
  • Adapt to changing customer demands and seasonal menu changes

Requirements:

  1. Proven experience as a Sushi Chef or in a similar role
  2. In-depth knowledge of Japanese cuisine and sushi preparation techniques
  3. Excellent knife skills and ability to create visually appealing food presentations
  4. Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations
  5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a high level of attention to detail
  6. Excellent teamwork and communication skills
  7. Flexibility to work various shifts, including early mornings and weekends
  8. Physical stamina to stand for extended periods and lift heavy items when required
  9. Enthusiasm and passion for creating high-quality sushi dishes
  10. Ability to multitask efficiently while maintaining a calm demeanor
  11. Willingness to learn and adapt to new techniques and menu items
  12. Strong organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
  13. Customer-focused attitude with a friendly and professional demeanor
  14. Reliable transportation for commuting to work
  15. Fluency in English; knowledge of Japanese language is a plus
