GI Specialist Nurse Practitioner

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday – Friday

About the RoleWe are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our GI team at The Wellington Hospital. This role focuses on learning and developing the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve the competencies required to carry out the duties and responsibilities of an associate GI CNS with the support of a senior GI CNS.
Key Responsibilities- Provide physical and psychological support to patients on a surgical pathway for a range of benign and malignant GI illnesses.
- Carry out comprehensive holistic nursing assessments and provide clinical evidence-based information and advice to patients pre, post-operatively, and post-discharge.
- Attend MDT meetings, inpatient ward rounds, outpatient clinics, and complete pre and post-op phone calls.
- Maintain own professional development and competence to practice, actively integrating theory and practice.
- Actively seek opportunities to improve practice and quality.
- Registered Nurse Level + GI experience
- NMC Registration and PREP requirements
- Previous experience of GI surgical nursing and conditions or keen interest to develop skills in these areas
- Knowledge of relevant hospital policies and procedures
