The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team as a Project Delivery Specialist. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality designs for a range of project types and sizes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Client-facing role, attending project meetings and disseminating the brief within the project team.
  • Lead the development of initial strategic concepts for projects, ensuring solutions are appropriate for the brief and regulatory standards.
  • Take responsibility for solid technical delivery in your work, either alone or as part of a team.
  • Engage with junior support staff in their day-to-day activities and offer advice and guidance to ensure they develop their skills.
  • Work with the team leader to monitor fee expenditure, resource, and work delivered.
  • Look for new ways of working and take time out for innovation and research to stay ahead of competitors.
  • Create and maintain a high reputation within the industry, ensuring adherence to QM and risk control procedures.

About You

You should have a relevant degree in Mechanical Engineering or an equivalent qualification and be working towards chartered status. Membership of CIBSE/IMECHE or an industry-recognised institution is also required.

You should have excellent technical knowledge in your primary discipline and a thorough understanding of Building Services Engineering and interdisciplinary design through all stages of the design process.

You will have experience working in a multi-disciplinary environment, leading, motivating, and supervising junior/senior engineers.

With excellent interpersonal and communication skills, you will have a proven ability in negotiating positive outcomes, resource planning, motivation, and management.

What We Are Looking For

Suitably qualified Mechanical Engineering or Building Services Engineers degree or equivalent qualification is preferable but not essential.

Chartered Engineer status or working towards submission to either CIBSE or IMechE or equivalent is required.

Previous consultancy or contracting experience in M&E Design & Specification, Surveying & Reporting, and Project Management is desirable.
