This is an external job vacancy for East Riding of Yorkshire Council. We are seeking a skilled support worker to enable a profoundly disabled young lady to access social activities and the community.

The role involves taking the individual out into the community, either 1:1 or with another carer, providing personal care, feeding, and helping make decisions about activities and meals.

Responsibilities include looking after the individual during seizures, which are typically grand mal but usually stop within a couple of minutes and she quickly recovers. The ideal candidate must have experience working with profoundly disabled adults and be qualified to administer Buccal Midazolam.

A genuine occupational requirement exists for a female worker due to privacy and decency. A car driver is not essential but would be preferred, along with access to their own vehicle and business insurance policy.

Travel and Requirements

Suitable applicants must be able to transport themselves across East Riding of Yorkshire as required. This post is subject to an enhanced DBS clearance check.

About the Job

We estimate the salary for this role to be around £9-10 per hour based on the location and industry standards.
