Purchasing Strategist

We are seeking a talented Supply Chain Manager to join our Senior team in Portadown, dedicated to driving excellence and innovation within the packaging industry.

This is an excellent opportunity for a master strategist with a passion for procurement to drive cost savings and ensure the highest quality of materials in supply chain operations.

You will be working closely with the Senior Management team to develop, lead, and execute purchasing strategies that meet the client's reputation for supplying superior products on time to valued customers.

• Develop and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies to optimize supply chain operations and improve overall business performance.
• Craft negotiation strategies and close deals to achieve significant cost savings and improve supplier relations.
• Forecast key prices and market trends to identify changes in buyer-supplier power and mitigate risks.
• Perform cost and scenario analysis, as well as benchmarking to inform procurement decisions.
• Sourcing and partnering with reliable vendors/suppliers to ensure timely delivery of high-quality materials.
• Monitor and forecast upcoming levels of demand to inform inventory management and logistics planning.

• Bachelor's degree in Business Management or a relevant field preferred.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in procurement, preferably outside the UK.
• Previous experience in the FMCG field with demonstrable management experience.
• Assertive communication skills with strong leadership and negotiation abilities.
• Excellent leadership and management skills with the ability to direct others according to company standards.

The estimated salary range for this position is £65,000 - £85,000 per annum, depending on experience.
