Transportation Coordinator

Job Summary
The Operations Supervisor will be responsible for managing the day-to-day operations of our consumer site, ensuring the efficient management of assets, resources, and facilities to maximize cost efficiencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and motivate a diverse team to achieve common goals, demonstrating leadership qualities in the day-to-day running of shifts.
- Maintain internal databases and follow up on defects with the Fleet Department, ensuring accurate and timely reporting.
- Administer the vehicle and trailer maintenance program, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Complete daily checks during shift and record on the central system, including trailers, returns, re-books, and pallets.
- Direct contact with drivers on daily performance and improvement actions, providing coaching and guidance as needed.
- Provide information and support to the Operations Manager to enable the planning and management of depot payroll.
- Ensure all personnel files are up to date, incorporating license validation, personal details, and completed training.
- Coordinate the recruitment and training of employees, ensuring a skilled and motivated workforce.
- Assist in accident investigation and follow-up, ensuring a safe working environment.
- Complete daily risk assessments of the yard and office, identifying potential hazards and implementing mitigation strategies.
- Identify and inform the Operations Manager of any maintenance and repair issues in the site, ensuring prompt resolution.
Requirements
- Demonstrate a successful track record of leading and motivating a diverse team to achieve common goals.
- Excellent communication skills, energetic leadership style, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Previous experience working within a similar transport-related role is essential, with a good working knowledge of EU Hours, Working Time Directives, and Tachograph legislation.
- PC literate, with knowledge of Excel spreadsheets.
- Ability to work on their own initiative, with a willingness to resolve issues and improve processes.
- 1 year's experience in transport operations.
