Class 1 Tramper Driver

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Class 1 Tramper to join our team at Gregory Distribution.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for collecting and delivering customers' products on a curtain-sided trailer, ensuring load security using ratchet straps. This will involve delivering loads throughout the UK, both full and groupage loads, using a handheld PDA to complete paperwork. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, be able to work independently, and have a strong commitment to customer service.
Key Responsibilities:- Collect and deliver customers' products on a curtain-sided trailer
- Ensure load security using ratchet straps
- Deliver loads throughout the UK, both full and groupage loads
- Use a handheld PDA to complete paperwork
- Deal with customers face-to-face and over the phone
- Keep in regular contact with the transport team for updates on progress and manage customers' expectations
- Attend regular training sessions
- Must have a UK HGV Class 1 CE Licence
- Hold a current DCPC Card and UK Digital Tachograph Driver Card
- Experience of fridge trailers is preferred but not essential, as full training will be given
- Be passionate about providing excellent customer service
- Working to deadlines
- Confident, polite, and a team player
- Good geographical knowledge
- Due to the nature of the role, applicants must be fit, flexible, hardworking, and self-motivated
- Salary for Class 1 Tramper between £36,842pa to £40,983pa, and MORE PLUS up to £5,005pa Tax Free night out allowance, depending on hours worked
