We are seeking a skilled and reliable 7.5 tonne driver to join our team in the Leeds area. The ideal candidate will have a valid Category C1 licence, a valid and in-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card, and a clean driving record with no more than 6 points on their licence.

The successful candidate will be responsible for safely operating a 7.5-tonne delivery vehicle to make scheduled deliveries and collections for customers. They will also be required to plan delivery routes efficiently, provide excellent customer service, and handle packages with care to prevent damage and ensure accurate delivery.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Safely operating a 7.5-tonne delivery vehicle to make scheduled deliveries and collections for customers.
  • Planning delivery routes efficiently to complete around 60 drops per day, considering traffic, road conditions, and time constraints.
  • Providing excellent customer service while interacting with customers during deliveries and collections.
  • Handling packages with care to prevent damage and ensure accurate delivery.
  • Completing necessary paperwork and digital documentation for each delivery and collection accurately and promptly.
  • Adhering to all relevant traffic and safety regulations, including securing loads and wearing appropriate safety gear.
  • Communicating effectively with despatch, supervisors, and customers to provide updates on delivery progress and potential delays.
  • Assisting with loading and unloading packages onto and from the delivery vehicle.

Requirements:

  • Valid Category C1 licence.
  • Valid and in-date DCPC and Digital Tachograph card.
  • Clean driving record with no more than 6 points on licence.
  • Full understanding of WTD legislation.
  • Proven experience within a similar role.
  • Ability to handle physical tasks, such as manual handling of heavy parcels.
  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with the transport team.
  • Strong familiarity with local routes and areas.
  • Hard-working, reliable, and flexible for hours.
