Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Systems Design Engineer to join our team at Panasonic Automotive Systems Europe. As an Electrical Systems Design Engineer, you will be responsible for designing and developing electrical systems for our automotive products.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop electrical systems for our automotive products, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and industry standards.
  • Critically evaluate design proposals and participate in peer review meetings to ensure high-quality designs.
  • Develop test procedures to validate designs and identify potential issues.
  • Work with cross-functional teams to deliver products into production, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Provide technical support and communication to ensure successful project execution.
  • Manage the delivery of electrical systems at trial stages and into production, controlling costs, quality, risks, and progress throughout the project.

Requirements

  • Degree-level qualification in Electrical/Electronic Engineering, plus 3 years relevant industry experience, or at least 5 years relevant industry experience in a similar role.
  • Electrical and EMC testing in a design environment and of fault finding to component level.
  • PCB design tools (Zuken CR0 preferably) and Circuit simulation tools.
  • Analogue/Digital Design.
  • Design for Manufacturing - Experience in designing electronics circuits and taking the design from concept to mass production.
  • Dealing with sub-contractor assembly houses.
  • Design for EMC/ESD and noisy environments.
  • Knowledge of project management processes.
  • Soldering and de-soldering (including surface mount components).
  • Excellent knowledge of electrical and electronic circuit theory.
  • Hands-on experience of using electrical and electronic test equipment and tools.
  • Must be an effective team player with a flexible attitude and good communication skills.
  • Self-starting with good initiative and able to demonstrate a methodical approach to tasks, with a view to developing own ideas and solutions.
  • High-level problem-solving skills with the ability to efficiently resolve technical issues.
