We are seeking an exceptional Research Finance Officer to join our Finance and Procurement Directorate at the University of Dundee. As a key member of the Research Finance Services team, you will provide expert support and guidance to the University academic community and NHS Tayside staff on the end-to-end processes involved in the preparation and submission of research grants.
Key Responsibilities- Provide a first point of contact for all aspects of the research grants application and awards process;
- Offer expert advice on interpretation of funding body terms and conditions and eligible project costs;
- Prepare and review project financial costing scenarios to optimise budget based on the full Economic Costing (fEC) methodology;
- Provide guidance to Principal Investigators on the use of electronic grant application systems and ensure compliance with funding body terms and conditions and University policy and procedure;
- Coordinate grant submissions to meet funding body deadlines and administer grant awards;
- Liaise with colleagues in Research and Innovation Services and/or TASC legal for contractual requirements for awards;
- Liaise with academic staff on all aspects of the grant application/awards procedure;
- Liaise with School Research Administrative Leads to optimise processes and reporting requirements in relation to research awards management.
- Good team working skills;
- Ability to plan and prioritise own work activities with the ability to react to changing priorities;
- Working autonomously with minimal supervision, initiative will be required to ensure operational efficiency around work requirements;
- Adaptable and open to change;
- Effective communication skills.
