ZipRecruiter is looking for a skilled Railway Performance and Engineering Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will have experience in performance engineering and be able to take on a leadership role.

This exciting opportunity will involve working on the introduction of a new multi-million pound fleet of locomotives, requiring advanced performance engineering skills.

The salary for this position is up to £59,000 per annum, depending on experience, with a standard Monday to Friday day shift schedule.

The ideal candidate will have experience in rolling stock performance engineering, with good analytical and communication skills.

Your Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and implement engineering systems, processes, and procedures to meet business objectives.
  2. Lead teams to identify and implement performance improvements using system know-how and know-why.
  3. Review, revise, and approve complex engineering designs, reports, recommendations, and investigations.
  4. Ensure high-quality reporting on in-service and other defects, utilising analytical methods.
  5. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive operational excellence and end-user experience.
  6. Contribute to project mobilisation from an engineering and systems setup perspective.Your Profile
    • NVQ/BTEC Level 3 in an engineering discipline, ideally HNC/HND or higher.
    • Extensive knowledge of maintenance activities with a large multi-disciplined transport fleet.
    • Proven track record of achievement and experience in the Rolling Stock industry at a performance or senior technician level.
    • Expertise in conducting and leading complex engineering root cause investigations, report writing, and analysis.
    • Experience in introducing new fleets would be highly advantageous.
