Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialist to join our team at University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust. The successful candidate will work closely with a dedicated team of Haematology Clinical Nurse Specialists, Haematology consultants, and bone marrow transplant co-ordinators to provide high-quality care to patients.

Main Responsibilities
  • Manage specialized treatment plans for patients with haematological conditions
  • Consult with patients and carers on how to best manage their conditions
  • Develop and implement educational programs for patients and staff
  • Work autonomously and manage own case load
  • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and contribute to decision-making
Requirements
  • Registered Adult/Child Nurse on the NMC Register
  • Post-registration CPD/Post-registration qualification in haematology or a related field
  • Recognised mentorship course
  • Advanced health assessment module (where applicable)
  • Non-medical prescriber (where applicable)
Desirable Criteria
  • Experience of working in a haematology setting
  • Knowledge of haematology oncology and best nursing practices
  • Ability to communicate effectively with patients, carers, and staff
  • Strong interpersonal and leadership skills
Working Arrangements

This post is primarily based at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham. The successful candidate will be required to work a varied shift pattern, including evenings and weekends.
