Senior Mechanical Services Specialist

AES UK is a world-leading organisation in the field of battery manufacturing, seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Mechanical Services Specialist to join its team in the Northeast of England.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the upkeep and management of primary building services, including compressed air, chilled water, and DI water plant, gas-fired steam boiler, LTHW plant, clean/dry room dehumidification, and general HVAC plant, LEV and VOC extract systems, fire detection and suppression systems.
The role also involves the management of incoming utilities, including water, natural gas, and site drainage, as well as day-to-day upkeep and management of site services. This includes the development and implementation of full lifecycle preventative maintenance strategies and schedules.
In addition, the Senior Mechanical Services Specialist will be responsible for the development and implementation of safe working procedures in accordance with recognised industry standards and approved codes of practice, including FMEA and Risk assessment.
The ideal candidate will have experience in managing external contractors, including contractor management, and will be responsible for coordinating, controlling, and safely managing major breakdown incidents, restoration, and corrective maintenance.
This role also involves the preparation and control of annual budgets. In addition, the successful candidate may be involved in new plant development activity, including the preparation of mechanical services design specifications, implementation and ongoing management of Building and Energy Management Systems, and project management and coordination.
To be considered for this role, candidates should hold a Bachelor's Degree, HNC/HND or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering, Site / Building Services, Electrical Engineering experience, including LV distribution and BMS system knowledge, demonstrable experience in a relevant site services or mechanical engineering role, knowledge of relevant Health, Safety and Environmental compliance requirements, strong PC skills, including MS applications, MS Project, and AutoCad/Revit or similar applications, and strong problem-solving, analytical, and presentation skills.
