About us
Changing Lives is a nationwide charity that helps individuals facing challenging circumstances to make positive changes in their lives. We believe in empowering people to lead safe, successful, and independent lives.
Our services across the country support thousands of people each year who are experiencing difficulties such as homelessness, addiction, unemployment, and abuse. By focusing on their strengths and potential, we help people overcome their problems and achieve a better life.
Our charity is driven by over 600 passionate colleagues who create a diverse and inclusive environment for our team members to grow. We are proud to say that many of our colleagues have personal experience of the challenges faced by those we support.
About the Service - Housing & Homelessness Services
A safe home is the foundation for building a fulfilling life. We provide support to people who are experiencing homelessness or at risk of becoming homeless, as well as specialist accommodation and outreach services for rough sleepers, veterans, survivors of domestic abuse, women, and young people.
Our approach to accommodation goes beyond providing a roof over their heads and shelter from the elements. We create a welcoming and thriving environment that offers opportunities for people to feel comfortable and develop. You can make a difference and support people on their journey towards a brighter future.
About the Job
We are seeking a dedicated individual to support Unaccompanied Asylum Seeking Children (UASC) aged 16 and 17 to develop their independence and prepare for adult life while keeping them safe in a homely and nurturing environment. As someone who is passionate about achieving the best outcomes for young people, you will have experience of direct work with young people, including support planning, child protection, risk assessment, referral processes, and housing management.
We are looking for a supportive individual to join our new team. You will be responsible for supporting young people to become flourishing individuals and overcome the interconnected problems that lead them to access our services.
This role is ideal for someone who is happy to provide advice, share best practices, and ensure that all young people accessing the service receive the high level of support they deserve.
You will be joining a new team of support workers who strive to ensure that the young people who access our service receive the best possible support, as well as supporting each other. You will also be supported by the wider Eslington House team and have opportunities for training, reflective practice, and case management reviews.
The biggest part of your role will be supporting our young people to develop their independent living skills and live flourishing lives. Empowering our young people to improve their life skills is essential to us, and we achieve this through the delivery of workshops or signposting to external agencies who can provide support if necessary.
