Newport, Newport, United Kingdom undisclosed Full time
About the Role:
This is an exciting opportunity to play a central role in an innovative, high-speed communications project. As a Network Engineer, you'll be part of a cutting-edge team, creating reliable, high-speed connectivity for a unique transportation environment. You'll develop a demonstrator solution, conduct lab trials, and support proof-of-concept demonstrations—all aimed at achieving seamless, high-capacity network coverage for users on the move.

About the Company:
Our client is pioneering advanced communication solutions to enhance connectivity for fast-moving users. This project, which leverages a network of trackside and on-vehicle technology, aims to deliver exceptional performance even in challenging, high-speed environments. The company is currently in the Research and Development phase, pushing technological boundaries to bring high-speed, uninterrupted service to a new application of connectivity.

What We're Looking For:
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in networking and communication technologies, with experience in developing and implementing robust, scalable solutions. A solid understanding of network aggregation, IP traffic management, and Quality of Service (QoS) is essential. You should be skilled at designing systems that address link redundancy and packet loss, ideally with experience in lab testing and proof-of-concept environments.

What's on Offer:
  1. Competitive Salary: £60-70k per annum (pro-rata), based on experience.
  2. Flexible Working: Hybrid setup with one day per week in-office; the remaining time can be worked remotely.
  3. You'll work within standard industry IP terms, with full ownership of all project-related intellectual property retained by the employer.
This is a chance to make a tangible impact on a groundbreaking technology project with potential industry-wide implications.
