Job Title:

Principal Engineer – Pre-Operations

Location: Barrow-in-Furness. We offer a range of hybrid and flexible working arrangements.

Salary: Circa £43,000

Job Summary:

This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to our Asset Integration Team as a Principal Engineer – Pre-Operations. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for managing complex stakeholder relationships, developing integration strategies, and ensuring the smooth transition of new assets and infrastructure into our business management systems.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead the asset integration team and delivery of work scopes.
  • Scope and deliver asset integration and pre-operational activities for major site and infrastructure projects.
  • Develop integration strategies and through-life management plans.
  • Liaise with and manage key stakeholders within the project and end-user function.
  • Integrate new assets and infrastructure into site business management systems.
  • Implement post-handover asset management arrangements.
  • Produce and validate working-level instructions.
  • Derive and develop operations, maintenance, and asset management strategies.
Requirements:
  • Degree-qualified in a STEM subject or equivalent engineering, maintenance, or operational experience.
  • Understanding of Asset Management principles.
  • Experience working within asset integration or pre-operations.
  • Significant experience in managing complex stakeholder relationships.
  • Experience in managing scopes of work to challenging schedules.
  • Experience in producing and validating working-level instructions.
Desirable Skills:
  • Experience or exposure of project transitions to operations.
  • Basic understanding of asset management.
