We are delighted to be working exclusively with a prestigious Cambridge college in their quest to appoint an accomplished Head of Finance. As a vital senior management role, the Head of Finance will lead the finance department and significantly contribute to financial decision-making.

The Head of Finance will play a pivotal part in driving the delivery of timely and useful financial information, as well as streamlined financial processes. This varied and stimulating position offers opportunities for professional growth and personal impact within our strong and stable team of Senior Officers.

The Head of Finance is responsible for the day-to-day management of financial and accounting operations, including budgeting, management information, financial reporting, tax compliance, charity commission registration, and other statutory obligations. Additionally, you will oversee banking and insurance arrangements and manage financial systems and controls.

Key Skills and Qualifications:
  • Fostering effective collaboration with Academic Fellows and other Heads of Department.
  • Proactive planning and organisational skills to manage diverse priorities efficiently.
  • An excellent understanding of accounting software, Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, modelling, and IT systems to enhance efficiency.
  • Demonstrating initiative and a creative approach to problem-solving.
  • A flexible and collaborative attitude towards tasks and embracing change proactively.
Employment Terms:
  • This is a permanent appointment subject to a six-month probation period.
  • A competitive full-time salary of £72,500 per annum, commensurate with experience.
