Climate Finance Analyst

We are seeking a highly skilled Climate Finance Analyst to join our team at Climate Policy Initiative.

The Climate Finance Analyst will support the Cities Climate Finance Leadership Alliance (CCFLA) in its mission to close the urban climate finance gap. The successful candidate will have experience analyzing climate finance, economics of policy choices, urban development, and/or energy and climate markets, agriculture/land use finance and/or tracking climate finance.

This role requires strong analytical skills, excellent communication and writing abilities, and the ability to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team. A Master's degree in Economics, Finance, Public Policy, or a related field is preferred, but not required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform rigorous quantitative evaluation of national and international climate finance mechanisms, urban trends and subnational policies, and climate and energy policies.
  • Under the direction of Senior Analysts, contribute to the design, management, and implementation of complex research assignments and analytical projects.
  • Support the CCFLA secretariat with analysis, such as on membership engagement and other strategies to enhance CCFLA's impact.
  • Assist in the writing and editing of high-quality CPI products, including full reports, executive summaries, blogs, and presentations.
