Senior FPGA Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Senior FPGA Engineer to join our team in Chelmsford, UK. This role involves driving FPGA development, verification, and release processes in line with ECSS standards and requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement FPGA design verification strategies.
- Ensure that all FPGA-related documentation meets ECSS standards.
- Review processes/source code reviews.
- Generate test plans and procedures to ensure deliveries meet customer and internal requirements.
- Hands-on testing and verification of FPGA deliverables.
Requirements:
- Knowledge of development standards used in Space, Aerospace, or Defence e.g. ECSS-Q-ST-60-03C and ECSS-E-ST-20-40C.
- Previous experience of FPGA compliance.
- Verifying robust high reliability coding.
- Developing FPGA verification and validation plans and quality assurance procedures.
- Experience with version control software such as Subversion.
- Experience of requirements management using software tools such as Jama.
- Experience with issue tracking software such as Redmine or Jira.
- Previous experience developing VHDL FPGA code and using FPGA simulation tools and UVVM testbenches.
- Experience writing verification and validation plans.
- Methodical approach to verification testing and recording of results.
- Previous experience developing automated test scripts containing embedded software and FPGA code using Python is desirable but not essential.
