Support Worker for Young Lady in Scarborough

Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate support worker to assist a 19-year-old young lady with autism and learning disabilities in the Scarborough area.
The successful candidate will provide personal care, support with daily activities, and accompany the young lady on outings, including swimming and cafe visits. A full UK driving license and own personal car are required for transportation.
The role involves working on a 2:1 basis during school holidays and occasional weekends, with flexibility to work ad-hoc hours. Experience is not essential, but a willingness to learn and adapt to the young lady's needs is crucial.
From September, we are looking for a support worker to provide wrap-around college care at home on a 1:1 basis, Monday to Friday, 8am-9:30am and pm (3.5 hours per day). This role is term-time only.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and support with daily activities
- Accompany the young lady on outings, including swimming and cafe visits
- Transport the young lady using a personal vehicle
- Support the young lady with medication administration and epilepsy awareness
- Assist with meal preparation and continence care
- Encourage the young lady to remain independent and participate in social and leisure activities
Requirements
- Full UK driving license and own personal car
- Experience working with individuals with autism and learning disabilities (not essential)
- Ability to work ad-hoc hours and be flexible
- Willingness to learn and adapt to the young lady's needs
- Pay rate: £14.30 per hour
