About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented individual to join our team as a Domestic Assistant. As a key member of our cleaning and support team, you will play a vital role in maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene within our hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Carry out specific cleaning and domestic duties, following set procedures and standards to provide and maintain high standards of cleanliness throughout the hospital and designated wards or departments.
  • Provide a cleaning service in accordance with approved methods, standards, and frequencies.
  • Support terminal cleans/infection cleans, ensuring conversance with infection control and procedures in respect of all cleaning duties.
  • Remove and clean up uncontained body fluid spillages in line with Trust policy and national cleaning standards.
  • Use cleaning equipment, machinery, and cleaning materials once trained and able to spot defects with machinery and report to Supervisor.
  • Undertake Bioquell Q50-HPV decontamination duties and be fully compliant with all methods and responsibilities of using this system.
  • Adept a flexible approach when undertaking domestic duties.
Requirements
  • Understanding of the importance of cleaning within a hospital environment.
  • Knowledge of using electrical cleaning equipment (vacuum, steam cleaner, buffer, floor scrubber-dryer, carpet cleaner).
  • Basic numeracy and literacy required.
  • Knowledge/understanding of cleaning and domestic assistant role.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a range of people and understand written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize day-to-day tasks.
  • Ability to be flexible and adaptable to meet service needs.
