Ornithologist Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Ornithologist to join our team at Penguin Recruitment Ltd.

About the Role

This is a permanent position, and we are acting as a Recruitment Agency for this vacancy.

Key Responsibilities
  • Leading and conducting ornithological surveys to assess bird populations and habitats
  • Collecting and analyzing data, performing desk-based research, and preparing technical reports to inform conservation efforts
  • Collaborating with Ecologists, Landscape Architects, and Design Planners to develop and implement ecological strategies
  • Providing ecological and ornithological advice to clients, stakeholders, and project teams
  • Mentoring colleagues with an interest in ornithology to foster their professional growth
Requirements
  • Degree in Ecology, Environmental Science, or a related field
  • Strong bird identification skills and experience in ornithological survey techniques
  • Willingness to travel as required
  • Solid knowledge of UK wildlife legislation and bird conservation statuses
  • Proven report writing skills, with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Familiarity with scientific data collection, analysis, and accurate data storage methods
