About the Opportunity


We are seeking an exceptional Instructional Lead for Law who will teach on our A Levels and support the implementation of T Level at Leeds City College.

What You Will Do



  • Deliver and assess essential knowledge and understanding to learners, fostering a culture of excellence in teaching and learning.
  • Record student progress, motivate and inspire students to achieve targets, developing their skills to enable progression.
  • Reflect on what works best in teaching and learning to meet the diverse needs of students, adapting curriculum delivery methods to maximise effectiveness.
  • Plan, prepare and develop effective schemes of work, lesson plans, teaching and learning resources including online learning resources for identified modules.
  • Deliver inspiring sessions across the curriculum using a wide range of teaching methods for identified modules.
  • Develop and employ effective assessment activities for identified modules, assessing student work and providing constructive feedback to motivate and improve learner performance.

About You



  • You will hold an Honours Degree in a relevant subject and have relevant experience in teaching these subjects to 16-18 year-olds up to level 3.
  • Holds a L5 Teaching Qualification (e.g. Cert Ed, PGCE).
  • Inspire, motivate and engage the next generation of law practitioners, acting with honesty and integrity to maintain high standards of ethics and professional conduct.
  • Manage and promote restorative practice approaches and strengthen relationships, role modelling and promoting a positive image of the college.
  • Comply with all legislative and regulatory requirements.

Salary and Benefits


The salary for this position is approximately £45,000 per annum, with additional benefits including:



  • Annual leave entitlement: 27 days holiday plus bank holidays and up to 5 discretionary closure days at Christmas (pro rata for part time staff).
