We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Researcher to join our team at the University of Oxford's Department of Engineering Science, Institute of Biomedical Engineering. The successful candidate will be part of a prestigious research group led by Professor Christopher Proctor, focusing on the development of innovative technologies to interface with the nervous system.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, fabricate, and validate implantable devices that monitor the activity of the nervous system and deliver electrical stimulation with precise spatial and temporal control.
- Lead, devise, coordinate, and supervise research projects, providing guidance to researchers and students.
- Win further funding to underpin the research and advance the development of new technologies.
- Collaborate with the research group to achieve impactful research outcomes and publish research findings in reputable journals.
Requirements
- PhD/DPhil in fields such as biomedical, electrical, physics, or materials engineering.
- Significant post-qualification research experience, with a strong understanding of laser fundamentals and microfabrication techniques for biomedical technologies.
- Proven competence in delivering impactful research, demonstrated by a strong publication record.
