Independent Sexual Violence Advocate Role Overview

This role is an opportunity to join our team of dedicated professionals working towards a common goal: to help all LGBT people achieve their full potential. As an Independent Sexual Violence Advocate (ISVA), you will play a vital part in this mission.

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced caseworker to provide critical support to LGBTQ+ victims-survivors of sexual violence. This includes acting as a single point of contact, ensuring safety, and guiding them through the criminal justice system while helping them explore reporting options.

Key responsibilities include:
  • Providing consultation services to other services to meet the needs of LGBTQ+ communities
  • Coordinating our integrated DASV programme
  • Offering safeguarding support to colleagues delivering frontline services

Requirements and Qualifications

To be considered, you will need:
  • Case management experience in a similar role
  • Experience assessing risk, working with those in crisis, and navigating the criminal justice system
  • Knowledge of domestic abuse, sexual violence, and safeguarding processes, such as MARAC
  • An understanding of LGBTQ+ communities and their unique needs
  • The ability to work confidently, calmly, and compassionately in emotional or challenging situations
  • Completion of an ISVA training qualification
