Supply Chain Director

Elevation Recruitment Group is delighted to be working with a well-established Metals Fabrication business based in the North of England, as they seek a seasoned Supply Chain professional to lead their procurement and supply chain functions.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the purchasing, planning, and materials supply of this £50m+ turnover business, ensuring the highest quality and reliability of components while maintaining adequate inventory.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a long-term materials management strategy, guiding the daily activities of procurement, supplier development, inventory management, sales and operations planning, material master data, supplier quality, reporting, and supply chain budgeting.
- Lead the Supply Chain processes, applying best practice and continuous improvement to provide excellent customer service.
- Manage complex relationships with global suppliers, internal customers, external customers, peers, and managers.
- Work closely with manufacturing on day-to-day operations and contribute to strategic planning and new product introduction.
- Ensure relevant and timely communication/reports on a regular basis to stakeholders.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in managing purchasing and stores functions, with a comprehensive understanding of metals buying.
- Understanding of ERP/MRP systems and a proven track record of continuous improvement.
- Experience in lean manufacturing and management supply chain or operational roles (minimum 5 years), ideally in a similar environment.
