The Role:

As a Clinical Oncology Pharmacist, you will play a pivotal role in providing pharmaceutical expertise and inputting the care of our patients. You will facilitate the daily running of the Pharmacy Department, providing a safe and effective medicines management service to all patients, staff, consultants, and customers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide a comprehensive clinical pharmacy and medicine management service to oncology patients, ensuring a consistent level of service in accordance with GenesisCare policies.
  • Provide expert advice on pharmaceutical matters in oncology, leveraging your expertise to drive improved patient outcomes.
  • Participate in the procurement, preparation, dispensing, and distribution of medicines, ensuring accurate and timely delivery.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to develop and implement protocols for systemic anti-cancer therapy (SACT) prescriptions.

Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience in oncology and haematology, with a strong understanding of clinical pharmacy principles and practices.
  • Experience in a hospital environment, with expertise in dispensing medicines and medicine management.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, prioritising tasks and managing multiple responsibilities with ease.

Qualifications and Knowledge:

  • Registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • BSc Pharm or MPharm degree.
  • One year's preregistration training.
  • Further post-grad qualification in clinical pharmacy, such as a Clinical Diploma.
  • Member of the Royal Pharmaceutical Society and the British Oncology Pharmacy Association (BOPA).
