Oxford, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom University of Oxford Full time

About the role

">

This is a challenging and exciting opportunity for a highly motivated Postdoctoral Research Associate to join our research group at the University of Oxford. The successful candidate will work under the supervision of Professor Tim Donohoe and Professor Michael Neidig on an investigation of hydrogen borrowing catalysis.

The project aims to provide a detailed mechanistic understanding of these C-C bond forming reactions so they can become more synthetically useful. This requires experience in the application of catalysis in organic chemistry, and the ability to manage small scale project management to coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines.

The post will be based in the Chemistry Research Laboratory, Department of Chemistry, and is available from 1st May 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. We are seeking applicants with a PhD in Organic Chemistry, Catalysis, or a related area (or close to completion).

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct independent research projects under the guidance of Professor Tim Donohoe and Professor Michael Neidig
  • Manage your own academic research and administrative activities
  • Coordinate multiple aspects of work to meet deadlines

We offer a competitive salary range of £38,674 - £46,913 per annum, depending on experience.

We are committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion. Applications are particularly welcome from women and black and ethnic minority candidates, who are under-represented in Chemistry research posts in Oxford.
