SCADA System Specialist

This role is based in the Midlands/London region, with regular site visits across the UK. As a Control Systems Integration Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the successful implementation of controls systems and integration into SCADA systems.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in electrical/electronic engineering, with experience in industrial automation and control systems. You will be responsible for delivering site OT network infrastructure, technical review/monitoring of Package PLCs, and other key tasks outlined below.
Key Responsibilities- Deliver Site OT Network Infrastructure: You will design, procure, and deploy OT infrastructure on-site, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Technical Review/Monitoring of Package PLCs: You will review and monitor the work of third-party contractors, ensuring compliance with industry standards and best practices.
- Attend Factory Acceptance Testing: You will participate in factory acceptance testing, verifying that equipment meets specifications and requirements.
- Attend/Undertake PLC Code Reviews: You will conduct thorough reviews of PLC code, ensuring it meets industry standards and is maintainable.
- Coordinate and Liaise with Suppliers: You will work closely with suppliers, specialist sub-contractors, and in-house teams to ensure timely delivery and effective integration.
- Procurement, Deployment, and Testing of OT Infrastructure: You will procure, deploy, and test OT infrastructure on-site, ensuring seamless integration with existing systems.
- Site Visits/Meanings as Subject Area Specialist: You will conduct site visits and meetings to confirm reported progress, monitor installation quality, and provide expert advice.
- Witness Site Testing and Commissioning: You will witness site testing and commissioning by suppliers, ensuring that all systems meet specifications and requirements.
- Undertake Client Training from Suppliers: You will provide training to clients on delivered systems, ensuring they understand how to operate and maintain equipment.
- Proactively Manage Engineering Risks and Issues: You will identify and mitigate potential engineering risks and issues, ensuring the project remains on track.
- Answer Questions and Queries: You will respond to questions and queries that arise during the project, providing expert advice and support.
- Compile and Collate Final Contract Documentation: You will compile and collate final contract documentation, including "As built" drawings, test sheets, and operation and maintenance manuals.
- Bachelors or Master's degree or equivalent in Electrical/Electronic Engineering or similar.
- You must know best practices for instrument installation, wiring, panel construction.
- Project delivery from an engineering perspective, either from the supplier side or client side, including installation and commissioning.
- PLC programming and/or use for maintenance (preferably Siemens S7 family).
