Job Title: Principal Engineer - Product Safety

Location: Flexible working arrangements available

Salary: Up to £60,100 depending on qualifications and experience

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Engineer to join our Product Safety team. As a key member of the team, you will be responsible for facilitating the implementation of product safety processes and producing deliverables. You will also support the management of hazards, risks, and associated mitigations, and contribute to the development of the hazard log and the maturity of information contained within.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Developing safety arguments to go into the safety report
  • Organising and facilitating HAZIDs and review meetings and contributing to other HAZIDs when required
  • Taking responsibility for product safety assessment against major subsystems or key complex technologies

Requirements:

Essential:

  • Experience in product safety management processes and techniques
  • Familiar with report writing and developing safety arguments

Desirable:

  • Experience leading hazard identification meetings
  • Background within a Naval/Maritime environment or similar highly regulated industry

About the Role:

As a Principal Engineer in the Product Safety team, you will be reporting into the Product Safety Manager and will be involved in the Canadian River Class Destroyer programme. This is an exciting long-term global naval programme in which you will work with international customers and stakeholders.
