Senior Scientist

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our team at S3 Science Recruitment in Nether Alderley, Cheshire East. This is an exciting opportunity to work with a world-leading Contract Research Organisation (CRO) specialising in integrated drug discovery.
The successful candidate will support in vivo aspects of drug discovery projects, utilising specialist oncology disease models and driving the development and application of imaging capabilities within the department.
Responsibilities- Apply scientific and technical knowledge in the use of imaging platforms (bioluminescence and fluorescence) for in vivo oncology models
- Leverage oncology pharmacology models to advance drug discovery
- Provide technical oversight in areas of expertise
- Independently plan, design, and execute work plans, managing time effectively to meet project goals
- Conduct critical analysis and interpretation of experimental data
- Coordinate and deliver high-quality scientific data and interpretations to clients and project teams
- Present scientific findings, interpretations, and recommendations internally and externally with minimal guidance
- Provide guidance or mentorship to less experienced team members
- Potentially supervise junior team members
- Contribute scientific, technical, and commercial insights to new project proposals, showcasing an understanding of the drug discovery process
- Represent the company at industry events
- PhD in Life Sciences or equivalent
- Proven experience in oncology drug discovery, ideally within a CRO, pharmaceutical, or biotechnology setting
- Expertise in live imaging techniques within in vivo oncology models
- Proficiency in using in vivo oncology models for drug discovery
- Strong analytical skills for interpreting and solving complex data sets
- Exceptional planning and organisational skills
- Ability to adapt to evolving project needs and work under pressure
- Strong team player with excellent collaboration skills
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Knowledge of ASPA 1986 regulations
- High ethical and welfare standards, with attention to detail
- Self-motivated, with excellent record-keeping skills
This role comes with a competitive salary of £60,000 - £80,000 per annum, depending on experience, as well as opportunities for professional development and growth within the company.
