About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our team at JAM Recruitment Ltd. As a Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for providing technical expertise and support to our clients in the defence industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support design activities from requirements capture to detailed design, implementation, and close out, ensuring compliance with site Licence Conditions, statutory legislation, and design codes/standards.
  • Maintain and control modifications to, and deviations from, the design intent of the Building Engineering Services for the nuclear-implicated and non-nuclear mechanical systems.
  • Act as the custodian of reference design documentation.
  • Provide technical support, advice, guidance, and resolutions to optioneering studies, design reviews, HAZOPS, etc.
  • Assist with the technical development of junior staff when appropriate.
Requirements
  • Degree qualified, or equivalent qualification, in Building Services Engineering / Mechanical Engineering or related subjects.
  • Chartered Engineer with CIBSE or IMechE, or working towards CEng.
  • Understanding of mechanical engineering principles for the design, operation, and maintenance of Steam & Condensate, Industrial Gases, Fresh Water, Demineralised Water, HVAC, Domestic Water services, etc.
  • Experience of working in a design consultancy and/or experience of working within a contractor design environment.
  • Experience in managing a small team of engineers.
