About the Role:

GSL Education is seeking an English teacher to support students with special educational needs at a secondary school in Portsmouth. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement creative lesson plans for secondary students with diverse learning needs
  • Manage challenging behaviors and serve as a positive role model for students
  • Offer one-to-one or small group support to facilitate students' access to the curriculum
  • Conduct small group interventions to reinforce learning goals
  • Assist in maintaining a positive, inclusive classroom atmosphere and managing behaviors
  • Employ strategies for equitable access to education for students with additional needs

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with students with SEN
  • Recognised teaching qualification in the UK or relevant experience
  • Experience teaching English
  • Energetic and patient with strong classroom management skills
  • Right to work in the UK
  • Full checkable work history
