Job Title: Hospital Pharmacy Technician - Band 5

We are seeking an experienced Pharmacy Technician to join our team in a Central London NHS Hospital. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a crucial role in maintaining stock control, replenishing supplies, and upholding the highest standards of cleanliness and organisation within the dispensary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Abide by GPHC standards of conduct, ethics, and performance, observing and applying all professional, ethical, and legal obligations.
  • Select, label, and dispense correct items in accordance with SOPs to ensure safe supply to patients under the supervision of the pharmacist.
  • Dispensing, accuracy checking, and balance checks of controlled drugs.
  • Checking the accuracy of inpatient prescriptions dispensed by other pharmacy staff, identifying and ensuring correction of all dispensing errors or items not acceptable to release, to prevent these reaching the patient.
Requirements and Qualifications:
  • Current and valid registration with the GPHC as a Pharmacy Technician.
  • Previous experience working as an ACT Pharmacy Technician.
  • Hold an NVQL3 and Btec certificate in pharmacy services that meet the registration of Pharmacy Technician's criteria or recognised equivalent as defined by the GPHC.
  • Ability to communicate efficiently.
  • Ability to interpret prescriptions and dispense accurately.
  • Experience of using a pharmacy computer-based stock control and dispensing system.
