Home Care Assistant Required for Son with Cerebral Palsy
2 weeks ago
Disability North is seeking a caring and supportive individual to provide personal care assistance to our son, who suffers from cerebral palsy.
We require someone who can assist with general hand and foot care, shaving, and accompanying him to the barber's at least once every 6 weeks. The successful candidate will need to be able to get on well with our rescue cat, Roger.
A car driver is essential for this role, as we would like someone who lives close to Whitburn and can transport our son to local activities.
The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and be able to build a strong relationship with our son, who enjoys participating in activities such as football and playing pool and dominoes. He also requires regular exercises to maintain his muscle health and needs to be kept warm at all times.
In return, we offer a competitive salary of approximately £11.10 per hour, based on the national minimum wage for this location.
We are looking for someone who is flexible and can work hours that are mutually agreed upon between both parties. The closing date for applications is not specified, as we will close the vacancy as soon as a suitable candidate is appointed.
Please note that the successful applicant will be required to undergo a DBS check and have permission to work in the U.K.
