Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Site Engineer to join our team and cover multiple sites in Inverness and the surrounding areas. As a Site Engineer, you will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of construction sites, managing site control, and overseeing the setup and maintenance of site infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Site Control: Set up and maintain site control systems, ensuring compliance with works standards and regulations.
  • Setting Out: Set out roads, sewers, and structures, ensuring accurate and precise measurements.
  • Project Review: Review project designs and specifications, identifying potential issues and areas for improvement.
  • Site Meetings: Attend in-house progress meetings, providing updates and insights to stakeholders.
  • Communication: Liaise daily with Engineering Manager, Contracts Manager, and Site Supervisors, ensuring effective communication and collaboration.
  • Client Relations: Serve as the primary point of contact between the client and the company, receiving and assessing design changes and facilitating agreement on variations.
  • Skills and Competence: Ensure adherence to the company's Skills and Competence Policy and Procedures, ensuring that all site personnel meet the required standards.
  • Labour and Plant Management: Organize labour and plant resources for multiple projects, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing downtime.
  • Surveys and Site Setup: Undertake land, stockpile, and construction work surveys, setting out sites and organizing facilities as needed.
  • Project Delivery: Supervise works, ensuring that projects meet agreed specifications and are delivered on time and within budget.
  • Client and Stakeholder Management: Liaise with clients, subcontractors, and other professional staff, providing technical advice and problem-solving support as needed.
  • Reporting and Documentation: Check and prepare site reports, designs, and drawings, ensuring accuracy and completeness.

Requirements:

  • Experience in site engineering and management
  • Strong knowledge of construction standards and regulations
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Proficiency in technical software and tools
