Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Truck Wash Supervisor to oversee the cleaning and maintenance of a fleet of trucks and trailers. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of Truck Wash Operatives, ensuring efficient and high-quality cleaning tasks are carried out in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and supervise a team of Truck Wash Operatives to ensure efficient and high-quality cleaning tasks are carried out
  2. Conduct regular inspections of trucks to identify areas requiring additional cleaning or repairs and report accordingly
  3. Utilise gantry washers, pressure washers, brushes, and other cleaning tools to remove dirt, grime, and debris from truck exteriors, interiors, and undercarriages
  4. Empty and clean trailer beds, removing any waste or foreign objects
  5. Manage consumables and chemical usage
  6. Adhere to safety guidelines and maintain a clean and organised work area
  7. Complete the necessary checks relating to health and safety standards and compliance
  8. Report any maintenance or repair needs to the supervisor promptly
  9. Maintain inventory of cleaning supplies and equipment, requesting restocking when necessary
  10. Collaborate with team members to ensure efficient workflow and timely completion of tasks
  11. Follow company policies and procedures, including maintaining confidentiality and adhering to quality standards
  12. Provide excellent customer service and address any inquiries or concerns from truck drivers or other personnel

Requirements:

  1. Full and valid UK driving license is required
  2. HGV Shunting Experience is preferred
  3. Ability to drive a HGV vehicle; no license required, but a standardised competency test for vehicle shunting will be conducted
  4. Proven experience in a similar role, preferably in a truck washing or automotive cleaning environment
  5. Knowledge of truck washing techniques, equipment, and cleaning agents
  6. Ability to operate gantry washes, pressure washers, steam cleaners, and other cleaning equipment safely and effectively
  7. Strong attention to detail and ability to work with minimal supervision
  8. Excellent organisational and time management skills to prioritise tasks efficiently
  9. Good physical stamina and ability to lift heavy objects and work in various weather conditions
  10. Solid communication and interpersonal skills to work effectively with team members and interact with truck drivers or other personnel
  11. Flexibility to work weekends, holidays, and overtime as needed
