About the Role

As a Buyer for a leading residential groundworks company, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth procurement of materials for their projects. With a strong focus on quality and cost-effectiveness, you will be responsible for building relationships with suppliers, negotiating prices, and managing the day-to-day project procurement of materials.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure timely and cost-effective delivery of materials
  2. Conduct market research to identify new potential suppliers and products
  3. Prepare quotations and proposals for clients
  4. Liaise with on-site teams to source the most cost-effective materials of the highest quality
  5. Monitor the performance, quality, prices, and development of suppliers
  6. Ensure health and safety compliance
Requirements
  1. Knowledge of aggregates, asphalt, concrete, and drainage purchasing, either through a buying role or experience at a merchant
  2. Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build effective working relationships with suppliers and site teams
