Job Description

Role Overview

The Structures Asset Engineer will play a vital role in shaping the future of highway bridge management at AtkinsRéalis. As part of our team, you will be responsible for developing and implementing asset management strategies for bridges and other structures, ensuring their safe and efficient operation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement asset management maintenance and renewal strategies for bridges and other structures.
  • Utilize asset management systems to identify structural renewal and maintenance interventions.
  • Support the delivery of bridge inspections and condition reporting.
  • Assist in the identification of efficient renewal scheme interventions.
  • Conduct whole life cost analysis and lifecycle planning for bridge renewal schemes.
  • Ensure compliance with legislation and contract service schedules related to bridge structures.
  • Support the management of emergency incidents involving bridge assets.
  • Collate information for effective performance measurement and controls.

Requirements

  • Qualified to degree level or equivalent.
  • Working towards Professional Qualification, MICE, MIAM, MIStructE, or similar.
  • Knowledge and experience of highway bridge asset management and bridge inspection and maintenance activities.
  • Awareness of RWSC, DMRB, and SHW.
  • Understanding of Asset Management Systems.
  • Understanding of working within the Strategic Road Network, with National Highways.
  • Experience in Windows server operating systems.
  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Excel.
  • Current UK driving license.
