Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Trainee SHEQ Advisor to join our Power & Civils Distribution business based in Kilmarnock. As a Trainee SHEQ Advisor, you will play a key role in supporting the business to provide guidance, support, advice, and governance on all SHEQ-related subjects.

Key Responsibilities

  • Communicate and implement the SHEQ strategy to ensure compliance with all HSES regulations, company policies, and BMS across the business.
  • Assist and promote the local and external audit program to ensure the business remains compliant and up-to-date.
  • Help identify site SHEQ training needs and provide support to operational teams to upskill and develop their SHEQ knowledge.
  • Provide SHEQ advice and support at an operational level, ensuring that all stakeholders are informed and engaged.
  • Support the business during near-miss, incident, and accident investigations, providing expert SHEQ guidance and advice.
  • Promote SHEQ initiatives and innovations across the project, driving a culture of safety and excellence.

Requirements

  • Ideal candidate would hold or be working towards a relevant professional qualification, such as NEBOSH or IOSH.
  • Prior experience in SHEQ, health and safety, or a related field would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills, with attention to detail.
  • Experience in reviewing and producing SHEQ reports for managers and clients.
