Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to oversee the maintenance, operation, and improvement of our site production facilities and equipment at The Bread Factory Limited.

The Bread Factory Limited is a leading food manufacturing bakery that produces high-quality baked goods for GAIL's bakeries, neighbourhood grocery stores, restaurants, and more. As we continue to grow, we need a skilled leader to join our team and drive operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Leadership: Lead and manage the engineering team, providing mentorship, training, and ensuring strong performance in day-to-day operations.
  • Maintenance: Oversee preventative and reactive maintenance schedules for all bakery machinery and equipment to minimize downtime and maintain high production output.
  • Project Management: Lead improvement projects to optimize production efficiency, including the introduction of new technologies, equipment upgrades, and facility expansions.
  • Budget Management: Manage the engineering department's expenses, optimizing spending on maintenance, repairs, and compliance.
  • Compliance: Ensure that the bakery complies with all customer food manufacturing policies, legal, and environmental standards for food manufacturing and machinery use.
  • Supplier Management: Coordinate with external contractors and suppliers for machinery repairs, parts procurement, and service agreements.
Requirements
  • 3-5 years proven experience in Engineering Management, ideally within the Food Manufacturing, FMCG, and regulated industries.
  • Good understanding of design software knowledge such as CAD and SolidWorks.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and automated systems used in food production.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
What We Offer

$65,000 - $85,000 per annum, depending on experience. This salary range reflects the industry average for a senior engineering role in the UK food manufacturing sector.
